AA LANDSCAPE URBANISM IN THE FIELD FINAL WORKSHOP PRESENTATION RIJEKA, CROATIA APRIL 2011

This year AA LANDSCAPE URBANISM In the field workshop focused in the city of Rijeka, Croatia. This is the fourth of a series of workshops held each year during the eastern break in conjunction with different LU collaborators. It was a 5 days workshop to produce a proposal within a post-industrial/post-comunist context. Other participants of the workshop include the University of Waterloo, University of Pescara, University of Ljubjana, Universityof Zagreb. The workshop was presented in a final public presentation to the goverment authorities (major and head of the planning department among others) of Rijeka on the 2nd April 2011.

GROUNDLAB / AA LANDSCAPE URBANISM LECTURE IN FLORENCE 31 March

Alfredo Ramirez -Groundlab partner and AALU design studio master- gave a lecture at the School of Architecture Syracuse University in Florence. Lecture was part of Symposium-Green Value: The Economic Benefits of Sustainable Design- organised by Lawrence Davis School's coordinator. Others speakers include Luis Fernandez Galiano- Editor Arquitectura Viva, Angela Brady, RIBA President, among others.

AA LANDSCAPE URBANISM IN THE FIELD WORKSHOP RIJEKA, CROATIA 2011

This year AA LANDSCAPE URBANISM In the field workshop is taking place in the city of Rijeka, Croatia. This will be a quick and intense testing bed for the application of the techniques acquired into a real project within a post-industrial/post-comunist context. Other participants of the workshop include the University of Waterloo, University of Pescara, University of Ljubjana, Universityof Zagreb. The workshop will conclude with a final public presentation of the project to the goverment authorities of Rijeka on the 2nd April 2011.

PLASMASTUDIO AND GROUNDLAB WINNERS OF BEST BUILDING SITES AWARD BY WALLPAPER 2011

Plasmastudio (Eva castro AALU Director and Holger kehne) and Groundlab ( Eva Castro, Alfredo Ramirez, Eduardo Rico AALU Studio Masters and Holger Kehne) won the Best Building Sites Award by Wallpaper Design Awards 2011 for the the project "Flowing Gardens", Xian Horticultural Expo 2011, China due to open in April 2011.

RECOVERING WATERSCAPES WORKSHOP

Recovering Waterscapes AA Visiting School Mexico City started last week with a site visit to(ex) Lago de Texcoco and traditional Chinampas site of Xochimilco.

A series of lectures gave a technical and theoretical framework for the students Workshop.

Main speakers include Charles Waldheim, Mario Schjetnan, ing Jose Luis Luege, Elias Cattan, Delfin Montaña, Jose Maria Navas, among others.

AA tutors include Alfredo Ramirez, Clara Oloriz, Alejandra Bosch and Jose Arnaud.
