AA LANDSCAPE URBANISM IN BILBAO APRIL 2012

The AA Landscape Urbanism went to Bilbao as part of the annual LU in the field workshop. This year AALU students 2011-12 worked on the creation of a overall strategy for Bilbao in relation to the potentials and challenges the city faces. The students presented their work to the local authorities and had the support of the Bilbao municipality through the Urban and Services departments. The workshop took place at "La Alhondiga" a multipurpose cultural facility located in the center of the city. The work was published in the Bilbao LAN TV and the local newspaper El correo.

AALU OPEN DAY 3rd NOVEMBER 2010

Each year, an international and diverse range of Crits are invited to offer new perspectives on the last year projects of Landscape Urbanism at the AA. This will open up the possibility of actively contributing to the (re)definition of landscape urbanism as a new operative field.

This year the open day is on the 3rd of November 2010 at the AA Lecture Hall from 10:00 A.M. onwards.

AALU @ GSD HARVARD

AALU tutor and Arup Engineer Eduardo Rico and Enriqueta Llabres (who teaches the Relational Urbanism workshop in LU) have been invited as part of the final year critics to GSD Harvard last week of April. They will be attending pinups showcasing the work of the Landscape Architecture IV design studio directed by Chris Reed. They will also be attending presentations of the urban design courses directed by Alex Krieger and Joan Busquets.

AALU PRESENTATION IN BOLZANO

On 20th April AALU, Trento and Innsbruck students present their work in Bolzano to a panel of officials, architects and journalists. The event concluded with a discussion and round table where various issues regarding the future of Bolzano Sud were discessed in detail. Professor Pino Scaglione, AALU tutor and Arup Engineer Eduardo RIco as well as Architect Thomas Demetz chaired the event.

AALU IN PANNEL DISCUSSION ABOUT THE FUTURE OF BOLZANO

AALU design tutor and Arup Engineer Eduardo Rico participated in a round table discussion about the future development of the city of Bolzano in Alto Adige, Italy. The session is integrated within the workshop that Landscape Urbanism is currently carrying out in the Italian City, where the students explore future development of southern parts of the city after future infrastructural upgrades linked to the A22 Brenner Highway. The round table was chaired by Technology Innovation Service and was attended by memebres of the Urbanism council of Bolzano, planning authorities of Trentino Region, members of Trento University, the director of Il Corriere del Alto Adige as well as other architectural professionals, AALU students and members of the general public.
